Trade-Mark Group acquires Cambridge Pro Fab

Trade-Mark Group acquires Cambridge Pro Fab, in addition to inheriting over 150 skilled employees from Cambridge Pro Fab, Trade-Mark also acquires its 250,000 square feet of fabrication facility located in Brantford.

The Trade-Mark Group of Companies is expanding its foothold in the fabrication industry through the acquisition of Cambridge Pro Fab Inc., the industry-leading supplier of insulated and lined ducting in the Oil & Gas and Power Generation industries. Additionally, the Trade-Mark Group will extend its services in Engineered Noise Control Systems through the acquisition of SPL Control Inc., a well-known name in Gas Turbine Noise Control.

Cambridge Pro Fab Inc. has been in business for 36 years. Like Trade-Mark, Cambridge Pro Fab started as a family-owned company. Since 1988, they have been a leading fabricator not just in Canada but across North America.

In addition to inheriting over 150 skilled employees from Cambridge Pro Fab, Trade-Mark also acquires their 250,000 square feet of fabrication facility located in Brantford, Ontario. This acquisition will support Trade-Mark’s strong growth mandate and take its fabrication capabilities to the next level. Together, the Trade-Mark Group now has over 300,000 square feet of fabrication facilities and over 200 dedicated employees to support its client’s fabrication requirements.

Similarly, the acquisition of SPL Control Inc. provides Trade-Mark with additional expertise and a strong team, enhancing its capabilities in Engineered Noise Control Systems. This strategic move enables Trade-Mark to offer a wider range of services and solutions to its clients.

Cambridge Pro Fab’s and SPL Control’s operations will remain independent with their existing management team, and the Trade-Mark Group will support with strategic leadership, complimentary services and the power of teamwork.

George Figueiredo, president and general manager of Cambridge Pro Fab is proud to hand the reins of the company over to the team at Trade-Mark. “I told Tom and Dan Straus, you’re not just investing in a company that’s a fabricator, you’re inheriting one of the top fabricating companies in North America,” Figueiredo said. “I think our team; senior management, project managers, production and quality personnel; is one of the best in the industry and that’s what they’re getting.”

As a family company spearheaded by the Straus family, Trade-Mark shares many of the same core values as Cambridge Pro Fab and SPL Control. Trade-Mark was founded by Russ and Linda Straus, and it remains a family business to this day, focusing on being a leader in industrial, commercial and institutional sectors. That’s why Tom Straus, president & COO of Trade-Mark, says he’s thrilled to partner with a like-minded company. “Trade-Mark, much like Cambridge Pro Fab and SPL Control, is a family business that my parents started over 25 years ago,” Straus said. “From what we learned from the short time working with George is that Trade-Mark, Cambridge Pro Fab and SPL Control have similar visions and values.”

“We are excited to join your teams and believe that our companies will thrive for many years to come.”
